Pro Dromi Farrow-to-Wean
With farrow-to-wean your piglets stay safe in one area. This prevents the risk of your piglets catching diseases as you’re no longer transferring them from one barn to another. Leaving your piglets in a familiar environment also reduces their stress levels, which prevents weaning dip.

In 2016 family Brummelhuis opened a new company, where they developed the Farrow-to-wean system. Vereijken was one of the development partners and supplied the flooring. We’re proud that this partnership resulted in this tested and working system. With farrow-to-wean your piglets stay safe in one area. This prevents the risk of your piglets catching diseases as you’re no longer transferring them from one barn to another. Leaving your piglets in a familiar environment also reduces their stress levels, which prevents weaning dip. When the sow is removed from the pen, the crate is flipped up, converting the pen into a weaner pen. This gives your piglets enough space to grow into healthy and robust weaned piglets. Based on the learnings of this project that is displayed in the pictures, Vereijken has developed its own F2W system that has different crates. Farrow to wean is available in a Pro Dromi variant for free farrowing and a conventional version.
